The Netherlands is a multicultural country. Yet we see a lot of division between cultures in our society. The housing market plays a major role in this. For years, the government assigned different neighborhoods and houses for certain cultures and new entrants. Wherefor it’s harder to find connection these days. This is slowly changing, with more inclusive neighborhoods and big scale social housing projects with more diversity.

However, in these options I miss the intimacy and more naturalness in living together. With this co-living project, I want to add a possibility for Dutch young adults, newcomers, and expats where they can live together. A house and a home with a juice of nationalities and cultures, where everyone feels connected.

This design and concept is projected on an existing building in Breda but can be applied on different buildings.
